"Danger 5" Cocktails

"Danger 5" Cocktails

The Australian action comedy Danger 5 is a bizarre, campy, 1960's interpretation of WWII where 5 international spies are going after Hitler and his Nazi dinosaurs. There's also a recurring bit where dying characters spill the beans to a perfect cocktail. Let's recreate a few and see if they really are perfect.



EQUIPMENT

  1. Cocktail set (includes Boston shaker, jigger, bar spoon, hawthorne strainer, fine mesh strainer, julep strainer, muddler, cocktail picks)
  2. Rocks glasses
  3. Coupe glasses
  4. Angled measuring jigger 

The Perfect Carlos Sultana

  • 2oz (60ml) dark rum
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • Cream soda
  • Raisins
  1. Add rum and ice cream to a glass
  2. Top with cream soda
  3. Drop raisins on top, they will sink.

The Perfect Fruit Madrid

  • 3oz (90ml) grenadine (2 parts sugar, 1 part pomegranate juice)
  • 1.5oz (45ml) green Chartreuse 
  • Pinch of salt
  • Mint
  1. Add grenadine, green Chartreuse, and salt to a shaker tin with ice
  2. Shake for 15 seconds
  3. Double strain into a coupe glass
  4. Garnish with mint

The Perfect Swiss Kiss

  • 2oz (60ml) creme de cacao
  • 1oz (30ml) vodka
  • Whole milk
  • Chocolate bar
  1. Add crushed ice to a rocks glass
  2. Pour in creme de cacao and vodka
  3. Top with milk and stir
  4. Grate chocolate flakes over the top
