Bust out your flannel and stretchy pants because it's cold weather cocktail szn. This drink is the ultimate crowd pleaser. It's got butter, sugar, cinnamon, eggs, it's basically a cookie in a glass with a healthy pour of booze. You've been warned.



EQUIPMENT

  1. Cocktail set (includes Boston shaker, jigger, bar spoon, hawthorne strainer, fine mesh strainer, julep strainer, muddler, cocktail picks)

  2. Angled measuring jigger

  3. Collins glasses


Tom & Jerry

  • 2oz (60ml) batter (recipe follows)

  • 1oz (30ml) dark rum

  • 1oz (30ml) cognac

  • 3oz (90ml) hot whole milk

  1. Add batter and alcohol to a glass

  2. While stirring, slowly pour in milk

  3. Garnish with nutmeg

Tom & Jerry Batter

  • 6 eggs, egg yolks separated

  • 1 cup (200g) sugar

  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar

  • Half stick unsalted butter, room temperature

  • 1 tsp allspice

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp cloves

  1. Beat egg yolks and sugar in a large bowl until they are clumpy

  2. In a separate bowl, add cream of tartar to egg whites and whisk to stiff peaks

  3. Fold in egg whites to egg yolk mixture until they are the same color

  4. Stir in spices and vanilla extract

  5. Either use immediately, or store in fridge for a few hours ahead of use
