Vesper Martini from Casino Royale

Vesper Martini from Casino Royale

The Vesper Martini is somewhat of an impossible drink to recreate as one of the key ingredients is no longer available. But we’ve found some viable substitutes that can get us pretty close, so let’s see what Bond was on about with this drink, and why he insisted it be shaken and not stirred.

EQUIPMENT

  1. Cocktail set (includes Boston shaker, jigger, bar spoon, hawthorne strainer, fine mesh strainer, julep strainer, muddler, cocktail picks)

  2. Angled measuring jigger

  3. Fancy mixing glass

  4. Julep strainer

  5. Cocktail glasses

  6. Nick & Nora glasses

Vesper Martini

  • 1.5oz (45ml) Gordon’s gin

  • 0.5oz (15ml) vodka

  • 0.25oz (7ml) Kina Lillet (Use Cocchi Americano or Kina Aéro d'Or as substitutes)

  • Lemon twist

  1. Add all liquid ingredients to a mixing glass with ice

  2. Stir (yes STIR) and strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass

  3. Express oils over the drink and serve
