Italy's Aperol Spritz

My first video in a new series profiling cocktails from different regions of the world, and we're kicking it off with a good one. The Aperol Spritz is the ultimate summer aperitif and is as Italian as it gets. In this video I also make the Negroni Sbagliato and an amazing spritz with strawberry, basil and balsamic.



EQUIPMENT

  1. Cocktail set (includes Boston shaker, jigger, bar spoon, hawthorne strainer, fine mesh strainer, julep strainer, muddler, cocktail picks)
  2. Wine glasses
  3. Double old fashioned glasses
  4. Angled measuring jigger 

Aperol Spritz

  • 2oz (60ml) Aperol
  • 3oz (90ml) Prosecco 
  • 1oz (30ml) soda water
  • Orange slice
  • Olive (optional) 
  1. Add ice to a wine or rocks glass
  2. Add all liquid ingredients and stir
  3. Add in orange slice and optional olive as garnish
  4. Enjoy!

Negroni Spagliato

  • 1oz (30ml) Campari
  • 1oz (30ml) sweet vermouth
  • 3oz (90ml) Prosecco 
  • Orange slice
  1. Add ice to a wine or rocks glass
  2. Add all liquid ingredients and stir
  3. Add in orange slice as garnish
  4. Enjoy!

Strawberry Basil Spritz

  • 2oz (60ml) strawberry-infused Aperol
  • 3oz (90ml) sparkling rosé
  • 1oz (30ml) soda water
  • 1 barspoon balsamic vinegar
  • Basil sprig
  • Strawberry
  1. Add a large ice cube to a double old fashioned glass
  2. Add all liquid ingredients and stir
  3. Garnish with basil and strawberry
  4. Really enjoy!

Strawberry-infused Aperol: 

  1. Quarter 5 strawberries and add them to 10oz (30cl) of Aperol
  2. Store in the fridge for 4 days
  3. Strain out strawberries and store in the fridge
