The 5 Easiest RUM Cocktails
Here are five delicious and dead simple cocktails where the ONLY alcoholic ingredient you need is rum. The rest are things you can find in your pantry or a quick trip to the market. This episode also features 5 terrible rum puns.
EQUIPMENT
Cocktail set (includes Boston shaker, jigger, bar spoon, hawthorne strainer, fine mesh strainer, julep strainer, muddler, cocktail picks)
Daiquiri
2oz (60ml) of white rum
.75oz (22ml) of fresh lime juice
.75oz (22ml) of simple syrup
Add all ingredients to a shaker tin
Add ice and shake for 15 seconds
Double strain into chilled coupe glass
Rum Old Fashioned / Ti’ Punch
2oz (60ml) dark rum or rhum agricole
1 barspoon simple syrup or cane syrup
2 dashes angostura bitters or a coin of lime
Add rum to a rocks glass with a big cube
Add sugar syrup and stir for 20 seconds
Add in bitters or lime
Cuba Libre
2oz (60ml) of light rum
.5oz (15ml) of fresh lime juice
4oz (120ml) of cola
Add all ingredients to a collins glass with ice
Stir and add a straw
Mojito
1.5oz (45ml) white rum
8-10 Mint Leaves
Half of a lime quartered
Short tablespoon of raw cane sugar
1oz (30ml) sparkling water
Clap mint and add into the collins glass
Add quartered lime and sugar
Muddle gently to extract the lime juice
Add in rum and fill halfway with crushed ice
Swizzle with bar spoon to mix and chill ingredients
Top with soda water and more crushed ice
Clap a bouquet of mint for garnish
Cold Brew and Cream (Original Cocktail)
2oz (60ml) dark rum
.75oz (22ml) cold brew
.5oz (15ml) simple syrup
Barspoon of coconut cream
Splash of cream
Add all ingredients to a shake tin with 2 ice cubes
Shake for 5 seconds
Add crushed ice to a collins glass
Strain in cocktail
Top with more crushed ice and add a straw
