The 5 Easiest TEQUILA Cocktails
Here are five delicious and dead simple cocktails where the ONLY alcoholic ingredient you need is tequila. If you have mezcal, you can swap that in as well. The other ingredients are things you can find in your pantry or a quick trip to the market.
EQUIPMENT
Cocktail set (includes Boston shaker, jigger, bar spoon, hawthorne strainer, fine mesh strainer, julep strainer, muddler, cocktail picks)
Tommy’s Margarita
2 oz (60ml) blanco tequila
1 oz (30ml) fresh lime juice
1/2 oz (15ml) agave nectar
Rim a glass with chili salt or Tajin (optional)
Combine all ingredients into a shaker tin with ice
Shake and then double strain over a rocks glass with ice
Paloma
2oz (60ml) of blanco tequila
.75oz (22.5ml) of fresh lime juice
1oz (30ml) of fresh grapefruit juice
.5oz (15ml) simple syrup
1oz (30ml) chilled club soda
Lime wedge
Rub lime around rim of a collins glass and dab in salt (optional)
Add tequila, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup to a shaker tin
Add ice and shake for 15 seconds
Double strain into collins glass with ice
Top with club soda and stir
Garnish with lime wedge
Oaxaca old fashioned
1.5oz (45ml) reposado tequila
.5oz (15ml) mezcal
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
1 barspoon agave nectar
Orange twist
Add a large ice cube to a rocks glass
Add in all liquid ingredients and stir to chill
Light a match and express the oils of the orange peel over the flame into the glass
Drop in the orange peel
Spicy Flamingo
2oz (60ml) tequila
1oz (30ml) watermelon juice
.75oz (22ml) fresh lime juice
.5oz (15ml) agave nectar
Chili salt
Add all liquid ingredients to a shaker tin with ice
Double strain into a rocks glass with a big rock
Garnish with chili salt over the top
Tequila Thai-napple
2oz (60ml) tequila
.5oz (15ml) pineapple juice
.5oz (15ml) lime juice
.5oz (15ml) simple syrup
5 thai basil leaves
Muddle 4 Thai basil leaves into pineapple juice
Add rest of liquid ingredients and shake with ice for 15 seconds
Double strain into a chilled coupe glass
Garnish with another Thai basil leaf
