The 3 Best Swizzle Recipes
It's swizzle season baby! Crushed ice, swizzle sticks, and easy to build in a glass. If you aren't on the swizzle train you're missing out this summer. Here are my 3 favorite recipes that don't require any shaking.
EQUIPMENT
Cocktail set (includes Boston shaker, jigger, bar spoon, hawthorne strainer, fine mesh strainer, julep strainer, muddler, cocktail picks)
Rum Swizzle
2oz (60ml) aged rum
.75oz (22ml) fresh lime juice
.75oz (22ml) curaçao
.5oz (15ml) simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Add all ingredients except bitters to a collins glass and fill 2/3 full with crushed ice.
Add bitters and swizzle until glass is frosty
Top with crushed ice and insert straw
Queen’s Park Swizzle
2oz (60ml) overproof rum
1oz (30ml) fresh lime juice
.75oz (22ml) demerara simple syrup
6 dashes Angostura bitters
8-10 mint leaves
Add simple syrup and lime juice to a collins glass
Add mint and gently muddle to release mint oils
Add rum and fill glass 2/3 full with crushed ice
Add bitters and swizzle until glass is frosty
Top with crushed ice, garnish with a mint bouquet and insert straw
Chartreuse Swizzle
1.5oz (45ml) Green Chartreuse
1oz (30ml) fresh pineapple juice
.75oz (22ml) fresh lime juice
.5oz (15ml) Velvet Falernum
Mint sprig
Nutmeg
Add all liquid ingredients to a collins glass and fill 2/3 full with crushed ice.
Swizzle until glass is frosty
Top with crushed ice
Garnish with mint bouquet and freshly grated nutmeg
Insert straw
